haha, so school is flippin awesome. Since last I wrote I've been reunited with my bestest pals at school and my boyfriend who is my light and salt. So yeah, life is great, school is tough but the best semester ever. I'm in the middle of midterms now, so it's pretty stressful, but it'll all be great as soon as these papers an exams are over. Back to just good ol' learning!
AND I got Hermia in the opera A Midsummer Night's Dream! Woot! We perform in April! I'm so psyched!
Sometimes you wonder why God blesses you with so much, but then you realize that it's not because you did something good but because God loves you and wants good things for you. It's love with nothing but love in return. I can do that.
Hope you all are having a fantabulous fall! Happy feast of San Francesco d'Assisi!

how weird is it to go back an reread your past LJ entries... Basically I now realize how much my life has changed recently and how much I love how it's changed. Things could only be better if all my Sprangz friends and family were here with me. Only that. The rest is heaven in earth - priests who truly care about us, friends who will never let you feel alone, and a boyfriend who always seems to say just what you need to hear. I am blessed to be at this point in my life, surrounded by so much love. This is where I belong. These are the people I belong with. This is exactly the path on which I need to be going. What a feeling to know that all is right with the world.
xoxoxo

    <lj:music>Harvest Time - Little Women</lj:music>

Sooooo had a GREAT weekend!
Happy Easter, everyone!
Friday night we tried to begin our girls weekend, but John had "nobody to play with," so we took a break from chick flicks to play frisbee and watch a thunderstorm pass by to the south of campus. Very beautiful! Basically, we girls had a great time this weekend without any of our boys with us to interrupt... hehe. Lots of fun inside jokes, making fun of the boys, decorating Easter eggs while singing My Favorite Things, sleeping overnight in Farley with four of us crammed on a futon, frollicking all around campus in the rain in the middle of the night, etc. You get the picture. Absolutely out of control. Pictures on facebook! ;)
The masses this weekend were out of this world, also! Some of the best music I've ever heard, especially at the Tenebrae "celebration" or whatever you'd call it. Best Kyrie ever. Period. Hands Down. Chills.
So I didn't get to come home this weekend, and I missed St. Steve and all my homies in da Sprangz, but this weekend was just what I needed here at ND - my best girlfriends, relaxation, lots of time to get work done, and God Central. I highly recommend ND Holy Weekend to EVERYONE! Come visit next year! My futon is always open to visitors!
Oh, I saw Inside Man last night with John over at the Movies 14, and it was a really great movie! A lot like Oceans 11 in some ways, but a lot darker and slightly easier to understand on the first viewing. And there were some pretty funny (by my cracked out definition) "cop movie" moments. But hey, Denzel Washington can pull anything off.

So I've been busy lately...
For the past two weeks we;ve had opera rehearsals every day, and last week runs every night except Thursday for 5 hours or so. Totally not cool as far as getting work done goes. But the opera went well both nights this weekend, and Mom and Dad got to see it, which was very cool. They seemed to really enjoy seeing me and getting to know my friends better. :) YAY! Sunday I had another chorale performance with some South Bend groups, and that went well also. Now I'm taking a quick break between Italian and theo studying for un update. I have both tests today. Then I have to finish a paper for tomorrow in history. Joy of joys. :( I'l' be so glad when today is over cause that'll mean I'm free as a bird for the rest of the weeks and a FOUR DAY WEEKEND! Woot! We're gonna have so much fun since the boys are ditching us. Chick flicks and panera!
Love you all!
HAPPY HOLY WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!
xoxox

<lj:music>The Grey Havens - Return of the King</lj:music>

yeek! :)
Friday: After class I had two hours of dance rehearsal in Washington Hall's basement, then dinner at 6. Glee Club concert at 8! It was sooooo amazingly wonderful! I'm going to come back in ym next life as a Glee Club member... they rock so much! John and Jeff figured with how much force Jeff would hit the floor if he fell from the balcony in DPAC... needless to say, intermission was too long for some of the audience members... hehe. So after the concert we went back to Fisher and sat around and talked for a while till 1:15 when everyone left and John and I went decided to go out somewhere. So we ended up walking around the lakes for two hours and I got back to Lewis at 3:30am - oops! Had no idea it was that late/early... haha.
Saturday: Woke up at 9:50 to the sound of a car alarm going off behind Lewis, went to brunch with Em, Katie, and John at NORTH (*gasp*), had rehearsal till 5, mass at 5 at the basilica, dinner with tons of people at 6 at NORTH (*doublegasp*), Harry Potter #4 screening at 7... not done yet, hang in there... sat around LaFun for a bit, played truth or dare jenga with Flipside and pizza (oo lala, Emily!), then we went to Sorin and watched Black Hawk Down till 1:15am. Great movie, I highly recommend it. and... went to bed! whew! zzzz...
Sunday: Woke up after 8 FULL HOURS of sleep! Not just any sleep, but the kind that you don't even realize you slept - like you just laid down then got up - soooo nice... So now I have energy! Brunch at 11 at south again, met Christian's mom and aunt, load in at Washington Hall from 1-4 (sooo buff I be), studying till dinner at 6!
It's been such a great weekend!
Did you notice I didn't study until today? eek... ;) This'll bite me in the butt, but oh well. I'm happy right now. :D

I love how I know that it's ok to go to sleep feeling like this 'cause I'll still be feeling the same way in the morning. *big smiles* :D
Had a great night last night! Left rehearsal after the first act to go see The Red Circle (don't remember the actual French title) at DBRT with John. Very good movie. Very 1970, very French. ;) I was thoroughly entertained, though. Not a lot of dialogue, so I wasn't bogged down my reading subtitles the whole time. Random nudity - was she the love interest? No! Just some random chick in the movie! odd... The rest was very cool. I actually got to see how robbers cut the glass on a window to get in! Neato! Learning life skills at Notre Dame... ;)
After that John and I joined the gang at Lyons watching The Sound of Music! Ok, now, I haven't seen that movie since 8th grade since I was so sick of watching it every time our chorus teacher was gone, but four years did its job, and now I love that movie! So much fun watching it will people that know all the words and sing along unabashed. :) Woot! And Caitlin and I have added a gazebo, chandelier, and matching swishy dresses to our future cul-de-sac plans. ;) Adult life is gonna be so much fun!!!! hehe The boys are nearly as entertained as we are.... :) mwhahaha!

Don't know what I got, but I'm pretty happy with how my professor sounded when she gave us some feedback right afterwards. :)
Last night was sooooo much fun! After dinner, John, Amanda, Katie P, and I went to the semifinals of Bengal Bouts to see some of our Fisher guys fight. They all did really well, and 2 got into the finals! Woot for Matt knocking down his man 30 seconds into the match! ;) He's our new best friend. After the fights we cared about Amanda and John and I went back to John's room to see the videos his family sent from home of his brothers playing basketball and his sister's All State band performances. Very adorable. :) At ten John and I went and watched The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at DBRT. Still such a good movie even the third time I've seen it! So this morning I finished the primary sources for my history discussion and went to class, didn't have Italian becuase of the other kids doing oral midterms today, and ate lunch with some really cool girls named Amanda, Charlotte, Emily, and Adrienne. :)
Here's to a very exciting weekend of detective movies, Orpheus rehearsals, mass, Bengal Bouts finals, and OSCARS!! Jeff gives the intimidating "you'd better treat her well" speech to John while Caitlin gives me the motherly "don't drink too much (haha), don't stay out too late, have fun" speech to me. Oh, joy. :) I love my ND family!
Studying now till 5 when we start cooking for our Mardi Gras party over in PE. Then dinner and group study party till Fisher mass. YAY!
Here's to the next two weeks... 5 tests/midterms... *bleh*
Can't wait to see all my WS friends! I miss y'all, and break a leg on your first weekend of AG (yes, I know I'm early)!
xoxoxo

Thought I'd update! date! haha!
oh... it's late... early... hehe
Sorry. So I've had a great week. Seriously, I didn't know how much would change since Tuesday night, but it's changed so much and so well. I'm so happy, and even my parents are happy, thank goodness (we had a scare earlier - communicating via phone only sucks). I guess I didn't realize before how much wondering and worrying were really bothering me and holding me back. Now everything's just natural and free. Totally amazing to feel like this.
Just got back to Lewis from Farley after watching Master and Commander with some buddies. Good movie, but I wouldn't mind never seeing it again. ;) haha Good music, though.
Got a package from my family! Two new sweatshirts, a cute kids shirt from the Flea Market, and my converse! yay! oh and bad cat stickers... haha.
Must sleep.
xoxoxo

martedì 14 febbraio 2006
Cara Valeria,
Come stai? Sto abbastanza bene perché frequento l’università di Notre Dame! Notre Dame è a South Bend.
Seguo molti lezioni all’università di Notre Dame.
Dove studi in Italia? Quando visiti la sua famiglia, o abiti a casa con la sua famiglia?
Ciao!
Caterina Geisler

must share my theology day before bed. yeah. bed. I'm sleeping tonight since I'm not feeling too hot. :)

I adore theo more than anything else. It might just be my prof (cutest old guy EVER), but I love the fact that I can take a class about the most important thing in my life - God. Seriously, I feel like I'm listening to Fr. George give a homily for an hour and fifteen minutes twice a week. It doesn't get any better. I love how we look at the historical and political context of the verses in order to prove that it's ok for Christians to disagree on points of faith - the Bible itself does! It's lovely to get back to basics, find the basic truth of the Bible and God's will for all of us. How refreshing! It's not like philosophy or "what do you think of such-and-such hot topic in the modern church?" That's not the point. :) I had my first test today in theo, and I didn't want it to end. I wrote 5 pages single spaced on Exodus 14:10-22, the P and J writers and their influence on the current text, early Hebrew history, oh my goodness! I didn't want the essay to end! But there I was, after an hour flat of writing non stop, realizing that I'd answered everything and that I had no more to spew onto my paper. I was empty, but full, if that makes sense. I had given everything I had to that essay, and I felt like it had brought me closer to God just by writing it down, by thinking deeply about my journey with Him. *sigh* What a great day.

I love you; trust me. Allow me to walk with you, and I will bring you through valleys and plains and over mountains to a new land beyond evil and death.

y'all need to come here just to experience this. Nowhere else.

booyah.

is it that a guy here will walk you and your friend back to your dorms at 8:30pm? To two different girls dorms when you have to pass his to get to them. At 8:30 it's not about safety. It's about caring enough to want to make sure we get back safe and happy, and it's about hanging out with the people you care about. Sorry, but guys at home would ditch us once we walked past their dorm 'cause they had homework to do. Just wanted to share the happiness that is ND. oh, and then talking with them about how crazy campus would go if someone threw a sheet over Mary on the Dome so she couldn't keep an eye on us. mwhahaha... mass confession in the stadium... ;) We're so silly.
